JOHANNESBURG(AP) Brazil striker Luis Fabiano isn't worried about his goal drought coming into the World Cup.

He hasn't scored in eight matches with Brazil, since getting two goals against Argentina in a World Cup qualifier in September. But he guarantees the scoring drought is not worrying him as Brazil prepares to play North Korea in their opening Group G match Tuesday at Ellis Park.

Luis Fabiano said Friday ''it's normal'' and ''he can't worry about it. It's how it goes for strikers.''

Luis Fabiano was Brazil's top scorer in last year's Confederations Cup with five goals, helping Brazil win the title with two goals in the 3-2 win over the United States in the final.

Sania slams film on her pre-wedding hullabaloo

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza isn’t happy about Hyderabadi Damaad, an upcoming low- budget Bollywood film. It is reportedly based on the controversy surrounding her marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Slamming the film’s producer for drawing inspiration from her life for the script, Sania has stated that she is intrigued that the filmmaker didn’t bother to inform her. The film’s heroine, starlet Debina Bonnerjee, who plays a character inspired by Sania, has assured that the tennis star need not be worried. “The film is not a biographical piece of work on Sania. Hyderabadi Damaad will be adequately fictionalised,” Debina said. “Whether it is Jawaharlal Nehru or Indira Gandhi, inspiration can come from anyone. Since Sania is a star tennis player, she will inspire people. We are not going to depict Sania’s life exactly as it is on the screen.” Sania on her part is concerned that the film’s director might rely on information picked from inaccurate media coverage. “I hope he makes it clear that the film in question is only a fictional account,” she has said. While Debina said “some cinematic liberties” will be taken, she felt Sania’s “discomfort is understandable”. The actress added: “I will only say that it’s just an inspiration and not merely copy.” While Debina has been cast as a hotshot tennis star modelled on Sania, other actors in the film’s cast include Amar Upadhyaya and Ali Merchant. The film is directed by Jaiprakash. Neither Debina nor the director is ready to divulge the name of the actor who will play Shoaib Malik in the film. “We will start shooting the film next month,” said Debina, who has already started working hard to get in shape for her role. “I have lost weight that I had put on to play Sita in the Imagine TV serial Ramayan. Plus, I have hit the gym and am toning my body with horse-riding and kickboxing sessions,” Debina said. The Bengali actress was initially reluctant to take up a role inspired by Sania but she says that she was impressed when she read the script. “I have decided not to imitate Sania. I will bring my own perspective to the role,” she added. A few days ago, Sania hit headlines after reports suggested that Sonam Kapoor’s character in Anees Bazmee’s next, Thank You , is inspired by her. In the film, also starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam plays a glamourous tennis star.

How they won their cancer war

it's time for Barbara Mori and Lisa Ray to go real

The glam divas - both cancer survivors - will be seen in a docu- drama talking about their experiences of fighting the dreaded disease and coming out as winners.

Titled 1- a- Minute , the docufilm on breast cancer is directed by actor Namrata Singh Gujral. It is scheduled for an October release. 1- a- Minute also features other cancer survivors such as Grammy Award winning singeractress Olivia Newton- John, Jaclyn Smith of Charlie's Angels fame, Melissa Etheridge of An Inconvenient Truth fame and veteran Indian actress Mumtaz.

Priya Dutt, whose mother Nargis died of cancer, will also be a part of the film. American actor Kelly McGillis ( of Top Gun fame) will be the narrator. " Both Lisa and Barbara happily agreed to be a part of the documentary because they have gone through the experience themselves. They were very touched by the film," an industry insider said.

Lisa has gone through stem cell surgery after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Mori was diagnosed with early stage cancer, but is now cured. Barbara said the docu- film was inspirational and she was glad that she was approached to be a part of the project. The Mexican star, who has been making news in India because of the Hrithik Roshan starrer Kites , added that her " dream is to see a cancer- free world and I will do my best to support as many programmes as possible to tackle cancer". 1- a- Minute is being made to raise funds for a cure, promote awareness and prevention, as well as support survivors of women's cancers.

The film follows a woman's journey through cancer with a focus on breast cancer. At each stage of her journey, the stars ( survivors from around the world, or affected closely by it), jump in and recount their experiences.

Barbara gelled a lot with Kites director Anurag Basu as he too has been a cancer survivor. In fact, cancer became the common bonding ground between Mori and Basu as they shot for the film in Mexico and India. Basu was diagnosed with acute leukaemia while making Tumsa Nahin Dekha . Lisa, on her part, is now gearing up for her acting career again after beating cancer. The Canada- based actress has said she would divide her time between Toronto and Mumbai.

Besides acting, she is also trying a new career - writing. Lisa has also been going all out to raise awareness about multiple myeloma. A part of the proceeds from her film, Cooking with Stella , went to the Los Angeles based Institute for Myeloma and Bone Cancer Research.

Sabotage may have caused train derailment: Railways

New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) The Indian Railways said sabotage by suspected Maoist guerrillas may have caused the train derailment in West Bengal that left 20 people dead and over 100 injured early Friday.

'We suspect it is a case of sabotage. The driver (of the passenger train) has reported to have heard a large sound. There was definite tinkering with the tracks,' member railway board Vivek Sahai told reporters here.

The engine and 13 coaches of a Mumbai-bound passenger train derailed and were hit by a speeding goods train in West Bengal early Friday.

Sahai said 20 passengers were dead and 104 injured.

He said Maoists were observing black week since past midnight. 'We had issued a red alert,' he said.

Sahai said the deaths were mainly caused by the goods train hitting the three derailed coachs of the Howrah-Kurla Gyaneshwari Super Deluxe Express.

'There have been earlier cases of sabotage but never of this scale,' the railway board member said.
